I’ve not seen my pup since Monday. He’s been carried, loved on, played with, petted, cuddled with since then and he doesn’t mind one bit. Oh the spoiled one.

Did you miss me?
Oh, I’m so sure of it.
Been a crazy but fantastic few days. Going to be another crazy week as my family is just one hour away from arriving here. Can’t wait..
Still here, not yet headed to Knoxville. Man did we not realize how much we had to do yet. But I think all that can be done has now been done so we can relax and finally enjoy the holidays and our families. Hooray!
Oh and sidenote; don’t go to WalMart on Christmas Eve…
They’re calling for an ice storm tonight. This means we need to leave for Knoxville today to avoid being stuck. Ice storms are probably a million times worse than snow storms because they DO knock out power and you ARE stuck at home. I’ll be fine with missing this one.
Things Witnessed
In the studio this afternoon we heard some rather strange and short sirens out front. Sirens are nothing new in this downtown area but the quickness and variety made us wonder. Turning back to work we figured it was nothing until we heard someone, we assumed was the cop, yell through the loud speaker.
Alright, you have my interest! We went out to see what was going on. The cop was in the...
The Holidays
They become chaotic in a few short hours.
Sometime tomorrow; head to Knoxville
Celebrate until Saturday
Head home to meet up with my father, his girlfriend, and sister
Fun, fun, fun til Tuesday
Drive to Raleigh, NC
Fun, fun, fun!
Celebrate New Years.
Sleep for four days straight.
I cannot wait!
J just came home with an early Christmas present to both of us. Well, two actually. He upgraded our cable from super way basic to dvr WITH all the movie channels (hello Dexter next season!) after I mentioned in passing last night that I missed having a dvr to record all the shows I want to watch (referring to Teen Mom on MTV, shoot me.)
After the giddyness of that wore away he mentioned he had...
Looking Back
This time last year I was laid off from my seasonal job right before Christmas. It ruined an already ruined holiday season.
Life was tuff that year. So grateful for the now..
Confession;
I am giving my 6lb. dog rawhide. I never thought I would since I learned the many risks associated but it seems a necessity now. He’s had it since last week and in the time I have noticed that his teeth are turning sparkling white, a far, far, FAR cry from what they were, and the best part, his breath is starting not to stink NEARLY as bad.
He is under full supervision when chewing on...
I do so enjoy the fact that Pandora plays Frou Frou’s “Let Go”.
J had to go to Knoxville today and right before he left, as I always do, I said “be careful” and I always mean it.
He called about an hour and a half later to let me know a big truck in front of him lost one of its metal beams. He said it bounced towards him and if he hadn’t quickly swerved onto the shoulder it would have bounced into his windshield possibly hurting him...
Why do photography toys have to be so expensive? FML
The new toy I’m itching for is only $600. Arrr..
The sun has finally come out, the last time we saw it was last Thursday. While it’s nice to finally be rid of that oh so depressing gray it is bittersweet as the pretty clean snow begins to melt away.
I’ve turned off the Christmas music. It’s just too much. Now I’m bopping to a Jason Mraz Pandora station that decided Kanye was a close match? At this point, anything is better than endless snorefest holiday music…
If anyone is looking for a last minute Christmas gift for moi here is a good list, particularly #2.
I need a reason to celebrate. Hmph.
in which i make an admission on envy.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who notices how peacefully calm it gets. It’s the quiet hush, so quiet that you can in fact hear the snowflakes hitting other snowflakes on the ground.
I live in a “downtown” area that often gets a lot of traffic at all hours of the day but when it snowed heavily this Friday all was quiet, even in this little downtown.
I also love...
Recently I’ve been having a growing desire to live in a major city. The appeal of having everything at your fingertips is awesome. Maybe this can become more than a thought.
Or maybe not. Who knows?
I just sent the Admissions office an email asking to set up a meeting to discuss my future. Let’s do this.
Cross your fingers for me that I can get the financial aid, without that I’m not going anywhere.
Bean soup with cornbread. Perfectly Southern, perfect for this cold day.
We gained three more inches of snow overnight. I thought for sure we would wake up to seeing blacktop once again but no, the brightness of the snow reflecting still blinds us.
I have cabin fever so maybe we will venture out today…

Yes, I took them.
Sort of in a rotten mood. If you asked J he would tell you it;s definite. I didn’t get but a wink of sleep last night and just as I was laying for a nap he decided it was dinner time. As I was resting my phone rang scaring the bejesus out of me.
After a decent meal we went to an art show. While it was fabulous I couldn’t help but feel stranded. Everyone we knew was off mingling...
